Chainier owns some 625 acres of vineyard scattered across several of the major appellations of the Loire, including Chateau de la Roche (Touraine), Chateau de Poce (Touraine), Domaine Paul Buisse (Touraine), Domaine de la Bruyere (Touraine) including the Clos de Ronceveaux, a one-hectare vineyard producing Sauvignon Rose,, Domaine Roc de Chateauvieux (extreme eastern Touraine), Domaine de la Galerne (also extreme eastern Touraine, Clos de Nouys (Vouvray), and Clos du Gaimont (Vouvray).
les calcaires
Les Calcaires is one of Chainier’s primary “Vin de France” lines, produced largely from fruit sourced from their holdings in Touraine.
The Les Calcaires Sauvignon Blanc is bright and clean with notes of candied lemon, grapefruit and minerality. The wine has a refreshing mouthfeel with great precision and long, quenching finish.
